THE TRES DE MAYO
WILL BEGIN TO DANCE ON
14 MAY 2007

Shell writes:

The Tres de Mayo dogs came to us via a mill in a small rural town in southern Missouri. There are two girls - both retired breeders - ages six & seven years (and at this point, I'm not sure which dog is how old). They came in with the kennel names of Diamond & Retta, but a new life deserves new names so I'm calling them Alice & Sophie (after my two grandmothers).

We also got a darling little Cairn pup named Edgar by one of Doc Tolliver's assistants and it seems to fit him. All three dogs are reportedly sweet and shy.

Alice

Doc's examination revealed some sad truths about mill life.

In her email to me she wrote, "Alice had a horrible uterus which had started to rupture at some point in her life. Additionally, she had TWO inguinal hernias. But the worst part is that one of her hernias had been repaired before and they STILL continued to bred her."

Perhaps more disturbing is the fact that Alice has tested positive for heartworm. Once she is in her Illinois foster home, we'll give her a chance to settle in and then treatment can hopefully begin.

Sophie

Holly Crotty will drive to Waynesville, Missouri to pick up Alice, Sophie & Edgar on Monday and B&B them that evening. I'll be meeting her on Tuesday to bring them back to their Illinois foster homes.
