We're trying to get Alice to come out of her shell but it's very slow going. Every once in awhile I'll see a glimmer of a "real dog", but most of the time she's shy and pretty withdrawn. Yesterday I made her come out of her crate and sit on the sofa and she & Molly napped together and lounged around all day . . .

And on 14 July, Shell writes . . .
I took Alice in for a heartworm test last night. NEGATIVE!!! Big relief.
