GIFTING THE WEDDING PARTY
Now comes the fun part . . . the giving of the Thank-You Gifts.
It's Christmas in May!
MATRON OF HONOUR Nancy collects antique teapots; in her hands she has two miniature teapots; one has a Dutch windmill design (to represent me, as I was born in Holland) and the other has a beach scene, reminiscent of the beaches in Florida. Her purse also has a tropical scene on it, for her next trip to Florida. Oh yes, let's not forget the Gift Certificate to . . . Common Grounds, our favorite COFFEE shop overlooking the Kenosha Harbor.
BEST MAN Bob looks thrilled with his new computer graphic tablet . . .
something to learn in his retirement years.
BARTENDER Frank looks through his book of photographs of Australia, especially Brisbane, his home town. Notice the little kangaroo peeking over the bag to enjoy the pictures, too. Also in that bag are Terry Pratchett's book, The Last Continent, along with jars of Nutella, lemon curd & orange marmalade. He'll have to bake the scones himself. WEDDING PLANNER Jeff & I tried to find XXXX beer for Frank, to no avail. No Vegemite, either!
DOG HANDLER Chuck gets . . . a hamburger??! Actually, he received a hamburger, a hot dog & a chicken leg. They were dog toys; underneath them was a gift certificate for the best butcher shop in town, for himself & his companion, Jay Samec.
Cari & Rico play with the dog toys to make them more interesting for Chuck's dogs.
VIDEOGRAPHER Mike Murphy receives his & PHOTOGRAPHER Sean Murphy's
Gift Certificates from Barnes & Noble.
(Not Shown: WEDDING PLANNER Jeff & CHEF Paul
receiving Gift Certificates for Walmart/Sam's Club.)
WEDDING PLANNER Jeff & MATRON OF HONOUR Nancy, who have often worked together, go over last-minute details on The Schedule. All is ready . . . let the fun begin!!
