THE RECEIVING LINE

Ph

First to congratulate us were RAELENE & DWAYNE PINON. RAELENE has been my Yoga Instructor since January 2003, and it is due to her instruction that I have better physical & mental health than I had a few years ago. VETTEMAN also takes Yoga instruction from RAELENE, as do several of the guests.

Ph

SHARON SHELTON prepares to give VETTEMAN a hug. SHARON used to teach at Reuther Central High School, moved back to Kalamazoo, Michigan, and has now retired, so she had the time to drive over and join us in our celebration. She just returned from Florida, where she has a winter home.

Ph

After SHARON, NED & LORI HARPER give VETTEMAN their felicitations. NED is Custodian at McKinley Middle School.

Retired McKinley Physical Education Teacher NANCY SOMDAHL gives me a hug, while McKinley Librarian JACKIE SMITH awaits her turn.

Ph

Retired Bullen Library Secretary, and friend since our Gateway College Library Class Days, BARB BULLOCK, gives me some marital advice.

Ph

Neither MARCELLA BENI nor LORRI SKOLAK, both dive buddies of VETTEMAN, can believe we finally did this. And that we didn't get married underwater, either; mainly 'cause I snorkel, not scuba dive, so it would have been an even shorter ceremony. MARCELLA made the trip from Illinois, and LORRI came even farther - from Indiana. There is talk of the dive group joining us on our honeymoon in Tonga next year . . . sounds like a plan to me!

Ph

Above MARCELLA's hand can be seen BARB MOUSEL, DDS, who drove up from Illinois to see if this was really happening . . . she, too, is one of the dive group with whom we've traveled around the world.

Ph

McKinley Physical Education Teacher TOM MOSS stands outside with NED, LORI & NANCY.
