NOW PLAYING: FINS
(INSTRUMENTAL VERSION)

On Saturday, we opened our Wedding Gift from Marilyn Doudt, also an Airedale Cyberfriend of long standing: A lovely decorative Parrot Dish.

We bought a five-CD player . . . it will take up less room than would a band, and we don't have to worry about it imbibing too many Margaritas throughout the afternoon!

Speaking of which, the Margarita machine is rented - I'm curious to see this thing, which supposedly dispenses Margaritas like Slurpees; one side with Tequila, one side without. We will still need a bartender to put salt on the glasses and lime slices inside. We'll see how that plays out.

I tried on the first wax cast of my ring; it is going to be beautiful. All those who praised Chris from VSO Goldsmiths (in Racine, WI and to be called Art Metals Studio when it reopens in May) were right; his work is lovely and his manner is a delight. The engagement ring should be ready during Spring Break (right after Easter), and then he will start work on the wedding bands.

THE ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

As of today, Sunday, 4 April 2004, it's official . . . our Engagement Notice was in the Kenosha News. . .

Now the question is: what to do about our names? Shall we each keep our own, or shall we combine the two as we have for years on our Howliday Cards? Another thing to think about.

THE PHOTOGRAPHER & VIDEOGRAPHER

On 5 April, we hired the photographer we wanted . . . a friend of ours from when we first started dating (he was also working for the Kenosha Unified Schools at the time), Mike Murphy, with his son, Sean, who is now in the business. To think that Mike & Gail weren't even married back then, and now that we're getting married, their son will be helping with the photography & videography!

A Cyberfriend from Canine-L, Mary Lynn D'Aubin, has offered to make the bandanas for Ring Bearers Cari & Rico, with little ring pockets on the front . . . and in Parrot Fabric, too! That will be the "Something New"; we have not yet figured out what the "Something Old", "Something Borrowed" & "Something Blue" will be.

Having already walked out of one floral shop, Summer's Garden, because the clerk was too busy chatting with her girlfriend to give me advice or prices, and having been very unimpressed with another recommended floral shop, Flowers & Co. in Racine, I plan to visit another shop over Easter Break . . . that will be a good week to tie up loose ends, and to start practicing with the Ring Bearers on a brace collar (two collars attached to one lead).

Our first reply! On Monday evening, I received an email from Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Oliak reserving two places at what he called, "The Wedding of the Year". We're on a roll!
