We didn't get to set up right; we put tents up, took tents down, had flyers on tables with boulders holding them down! The winds gusted up 40 miles an hour, so it was kind of a bust, but we were there, we were seen, and we were wind-burnt! I think for such a rough day we made a few good contacts, and I think we will place our Winnie Pooh here in Nebraska.

My sister Corinne, with her service dog, Baby Girl.
On one of my trips to pick up rescues from Joplin, she came with me and found this mutt, whom she trained to be a seizure dog, alerting my sister before she has one. FABULOUS DOG! My sister saved her life; now Baby saves hers!

We put a lot of work in putting this event together, to be literally blown away! The event was at a beautiful setting, but on top of a hill, which made the winds even worse. We put up two tents, two tables, two x-pens, a banner and a yellow brick road background for "Pictures with Dorothy". Within the first hour, we took down two tents, one table, one x-pen, on & on! Things were blowing everywhere!

We only made a total of $14.00, but I think we got a few good leads for foster & adoptive homes. Only serious dog people came out for the event. There were planned speakers, wine tasting, food, and other activities, but most were canceled due to winds. But I can say we all gave it a good shot!
