WINTER STORM 8-10 FEBRUARY 2010

What it's like in the Midwest today at 8:00 a.m. From the front door . . . . . . from the patio door . . . . . . and an hour later, when the sun has risen. The snow removal guys have already dug me out once; I assume I'll see 'em again today. Sometime after the city plows in the driveway, I hope. The strangest part of all this is shoveling snow while a cardinal is singing his spring songs which he began doing last week. I guess it's never too soon to claim your territory or your mate! ChrissiOneEye: What's under there, Daisy? I dunno, but I definitely smell SOMEthing! Long after the others have given up and come inside for a cup of hot chocolate, Daisy2Legs stands (well, sits actually) guard. The flock of sparrows & juncos living under the deck pay no attention to her and fly right by her to the feeders & birdbath.
