On 8 March (in USA), Kirk writes:

I am REALLY glad we did this! REALLY GLAD; and a personal thank you to all the contributors. Thank you!

Thanks for nudging me this way go to Dan Joyce & Andréa Denninger. Andréa, thanks so much for the website work, Cairn efforts & everything! Dan, thank you for helping Sue & Bill, for all of us! You have been where we wished we could be, to help.

No additional funds came in this week, so I can tell you the final totals and estimate on the PayPal costs on both ends.

So, here it is.

$3,063 USD from PayPal donations
$445 USD from checks
$3,508 USD Total

$4,257.32 AUD sent to S. Forrester at PayPal via instant transfers
$665.69 USD Total to be sent to S. Forrester at PayPal via eChecks about equal to $1,039.24 AUD

$275 USD already sent
$170 USD remaining to be sent
$220.69 USD remaining to be sent from Anonymous Donor to cover PayPal costs
$5,296.56 AUD approximate total of Direct AUD sent and converted USD to AUD in OZ

PayPal fees (Sue has not told me what actual fees they got hit with receiving the funds. PayPal told me how to calculate the international fees that would have been charged to their account.)

$100.62 USD deducted on receipt into my account from credit card, etc.
$110.00 USD = $171.94 AUD calculated estimate on Sue's account for the International remittance of the AUD into her account.

$210.62 USD estimated total Fees from PayPal

There were costs to convert the currencies on both ends of this but there is simply nothing to be done about that. It costs money to exchange money. The money changers charge and that is that.

Even at that, the approximately $5,300 AUD was well worth the effort, I would say. Sue, Bill, Wombat Bend, the As & some injured wildlife will benefit, of that you can be assured.

Thank you again from Michigan, Wisconsin & Melbourne, Yarra Valley, Victoria, Australia!
