KIRK NIMS writes: News from Sue Forrester

We just left Sue at Patty Eisenbraun's home.

She asked us to post to the group to let folks know
that she arrived here safe and sound in Michigan last night.

There was a get-together this afternoon at Patty's home
and we will join Sue and some others for dinner tonight
here in the suburbs of Detroit.

Sue got to meet Sir Miles, Adam & Andy and took some pics.

So, rest assured that Sue is getting a major Airedale Fix already
here in the States. The four resident ADTs at Patty & Ken's,
our three and a distant cousin of Sir Miles, a 13.5-week-old
pup from Miles' breeder were at the house. The pup is adorable,
but a bit intimidated by the seven adult ADTs
that want to sniff him all over.

I am sure Sue will be online later when she gets a moment
to sit and rest up some.

Later the same day, MARY LOU DEWAR writes:

On the way to WOTA . . . Joplin, Missouri last stop!

We're in Joplin, MO! Decided to press on through Tulsa
and hit Joplin for the night. Only a medium ride to St. Louis tomorrow.
We are getting too old for these over-500-mile days, though!

Cash has been a model traveler, donning his seatbelt each day with pleasure,
taking breaks when needed and spending nights in different hotels.
What a guy! Hoping to meet everyone and their four-leggeds.

Take care . . . will report in tomorrow.

And even later that night, MONICA MAHN writes:

What a wonderful afternoon!

My husband Tim & I just came back from spending a wonderful
afternoon with some of the people from this list.
It was great to be able to put faces to names!

Patty & Ken Eisenbraun generously hosted the party
and invited one & all. I must admit that at first it felt a bit strange
to be driving to Michigan to spend the afternoon with people I'd never met before
(I wasn't quite sure what to answer at the border when
they asked me where we were going and what we were doing . . .
"Ummm . . . I'm not quite sure where I'm going,
or whom I'm going to see . . ." LOL)
But once we got there that feeling disappeared and I was amazed
by how quickly everyone felt familiar.

What could be better than spending several hours talking about Airedales
with like-minded people? We also very much enjoyed meeting Sue,
who, from her pictures, must live in one of the most beautiful
and fascinating places in the world!

The whole drive home I was thinking about how fortunate we are
to be able to connect with each other like this,
through keyboards and computers all around the world.
What a great cyber-family we have!

Special thanks Patty & Ken for making this afternoon possible!

Early Sunday morning, LINDA CUNNINGHAM writes: Getting ready to go

I'm going to go nomail as I get ready to head to Christie [Williams]'s
later this afternoon and then on to St. Louis tomorrow morning!
Yippee! I'm taking my digital camera that takes pictures
on floppy disks. If anyone has computer access out there,
you are welcome to stop by and pick up the disks to send photos
back to the ones who had to stay home!
I will be with the quilt selling tickets.

I'll fill you in on all the good stuff when I get back on Friday.

FAYE McLEOD writes:

Thanks, Patty, for giving us all a chance to meet Sue.
You people going to WOTA are in for a great treat when you meet Sue.

She is everything you thought she would be and MORE.
Just wish it was not a one-time meeting. But HEY we all have
the computer and that is better then nothing.

What a joy it was to meet Sue -
as terrific in person
as she is on the list;
to see Tim & Monica's book
on Trudi (she's a real doll);
and to talk with other listers
and Airedale lovers.

Thanks again, Patty & Ken.
It was wonderful.
