Another day at WOTA . . .

. . . and what a marvelous it day it has been.

The day began with OBEDIENCE TRIALS at the Purina Grounds
in pleasant temperatures of upper 70s,
bright sun but a little too much wind which seemed to unnerve
some of the dogs in OBEDIENCE. However, they performed brilliantly
with their sits, stays and downs. Unfortunately, I don't have
the winners' names . . . I was too busy shopping and visiting
with other 'dales and, I might add, getting
VERYBIGDUDLEYKISSES from Jackie & Wendell's Dudley.

Off to lunch, then returned at 2:00 for the Rescue and Fun events.
Each Rescue was introduced with his/her human and a brief story
of his/her history was read by Marti (Pixi's Mom),
who was MCing the event. Believe me, there were tears in all our eyes
and also happy thoughts because these Rescue guys [and gals]
were with their forever families.

Then to the Fun events . . .
the HOT DOG TOSS,
in which I think Dudley
was one of the high finishers.
Dale Burrier was one of the
major league pitchers for
the ADT catchers.

Next came the MUSICAL SITS (as in Musical Chairs).
Dick entered our Cash, who has never had any OBEDIENCE training;
believe it or not, he was in the semi finals . . .
naturally, the real OBEDIENCE guys were the finishers.

A battle for the BEST BOWLER, that is, the one who could knock down
all the bowling pins (H2O-filled two-liter bottles).
Cash, who could walk through a china shop and not touch a thing,
obviously did not do well, but Pixi came in second in a run-off.
The winner was a hunting dog who flew through all the bottles
chasing her coon tail . . . too cute to watch.
